3rd Jul, 2020 | Sidekicker Updates

Our Sidekick community is made up of people from all walks of life. Their backgrounds, their passions and their stories are part of what makes them so good at what they do. Hemma is a law graduate turned ethical business owner and loves a good yoga session. She wants to explore the world and build a life that is exciting to wake up to every single day. See why she loves what she does!

Where were you working before you started Sidekicking?

At first I did law. I have worked in very interesting positions including with the Independent Police Conduct Authority. I have managed foreign trusts and have been an intellectual property lawyer but I have always dreamed of owning my own business.

I have taken the leap and have launched my own ethical fashion business – www.thegoodtrend.com.

I am currently venturing into the legal tech space with a partner and our focus will be to simplify the accessibility to file trade mark applications for the public. I am building a life where it is exciting to wake up every morning!

Tell us something unique about yourself (hobbies, interests, experiences etc)

I am obsessed with yoga. I used to think it was boring but it’s taken my strength to the next level.

What was your first Sidekicking gig?

Working for Cycle Blend. They are my favourite Sidekick employer! We worked at a Sketchers event assisting attendees with making smoothies on the Cycle Blend bikes.

Coolest thing you’ve done at Sidekicker?

My favourite Sidekicker client to work for is Cycle Blend. Jane (the boss) is so much fun to work for, and it’s amazing being able to interact with the public and children and encourage them to try smoothies and nourish their bodies. I love the coconut water and berry smoothies that we make for the public and I often replicate them at home, adding a pinch of turmeric, maybe some açai berries if I’m feeling fancy, and some pea protein powder.

What was your first job?

I worked for a fast fashion jewellery store. My confidence grew and I had money to buy my own clothes. It was the beginning of something exciting as I started to keep up to date with all the latest trends.

What do you hope to do in the future?

More travel, I want to explore everything that I can!

What did you want to be when you were younger?

There were so many ideas, and I always knew that whatever I did, I was going to live my dreams.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone who wants to be a Sidekick?

Just do it! You won’t regret a second of it!

Why do you love what you do?

It gives me time to focus on the things I am aspiring to – building my business and building out the life I want to live!
