After receiving market validation from key hospitality clients in Perth including Gloucester Park, TFE Hotels and Fraser’s Restaurant Group, we are today announcing we are officially here to stay to support the West Coast market with their staffing needs.

On Thursday evening the 15th of March, we hosted a launch event at the beautiful Fraser’s Kings Park, where we held a fireside chat with our foundational Perth clients, and concluded with a gin infusion master class with award-winning distillery West Winds Gin.

Sidekicker Launch In Perth

Tom Amos, our CEO and Co-Founder shared with the attendees, “In mid-2017 we launched a pilot program in Perth to test the market acceptance for a new approach to sourcing and managing temporary staff. We have been thrilled with the support from the local market.
Over our first three years we completed 5,000 shifts on Sidekicker, In October last year, our Sidekicks completed 5,000 shifts in only 25 days. Our goal from the start was to give businesses access to a simple and easy to use platform that connects them with high-quality Sidekicks, while empowering them with easy to use features like Talent Pools that makes managing a temp workforce as frictionless as possible.”

Gloucester Park was one of our earliest adopters in Perth, and excitingly have one of the highest company ratings of Sidekicker in ANZ, with Sidekicks loving coming to work at their venue. HR Advisor Eddie Soto at Gloucester Park shared with the audience at the launch party his secrets to Sidekick happiness. His top 3 tips were:

1. Treat Sidekicks with the same respect that you would your full-time or casual staff, eliminate the us vs them mentality

2. Invest time in completing personalised ratings and reviews so the Sidekicks get feedback on how to improve

3. Empower your front-line management to curate their own talent pools, so their favourite Sidekicks are always asked to come back, which makes everyone happy!

Eddie also said: “Sidekicker has helped us get back a lot of wasted time. The knowledge that we can get decent people quickly, relieves so much stress. We’re using more and more Sidekicks and we’re not looking back.” Gloucester Park now uses Sidekicker exclusively and has saved “almost a full day a week” freeing up his time spend developing senior staff members.
