The Company

Samphire Catering is one of Perth’s premiere catering companies born out of a demand for upmarket menu creations by noteworthy chef, Stephen Hitchings.


The Challenge

Given the seasonal peaks of the events industry, Samphire Catering has an increased need for staff in the November/December Christmas period, as well as the March/April Easter holiday period. Finding & hiring staff for sporadic shifts during these busy periods when event needs are fluctuating was proving ineffective.

“Our few key staff are great but when weddings require ten Front of House staff and you only have four on the books it’s not worth employing more which is when we would seek out a temp agency,” said owner of Samphire Catering Head Chef and Owner Stephen Hitchings.

Using temp agencies in the past, Samphire Catering found the lack of transparency led to staff arriving for events unprepared and unqualified for the tasks they were hired to undertake, leaving quality of service jeopardised.
